What Passion REALLY Is

What is PASSION?

To a lot of people, passion is this magical elixir, that once you find it, everything will change. And if you don’t find it by the time you’re 25, you’re destined to be a loser for the rest of your life.

That nightmare of a thought is so daunting that it drives people away from ever finding their passion in the first place and leaves them settling for the safe route of not even trying at all.

Not to mention with all the pressure from TV and social media, it makes sense why people are settling into jobs that they hate.

See, the world’s brainwashed us into thinking that you’re supposed to find your passion early in life.

That by 25, everything will be set and you’ll have it all figured out.

But then something, outta nowhere, life slaps you in the face and you’re in your 30’s & 40’s only to realize you haven’t really done anything and ask yourself “Do I even have a passion?”

(Ouch, that hurt me too).

See the problem is not that you don’t have a passion, the problem is that you don’t know what passion really is.

See, most people think that passion is an activity that you can see and measure like cooking, teaching, telling jokes, or dancing.

But that’s not it.

Passion is what’s happening UNDERNEATH the surface when you do those things.

(I know what you’re thinking, you don’t get it but follow me here for a second…)

When you’re doing your passion, I want you to you step back and ask yourself….

“What am I REALLY doing in that moment?”

“What’s REALLY HAPPENING here?”

Whatever the answer is, you’ll see that that is what your passion REALLY is.

For example, I put on conferences for executives and CEO’s.

Now if you were to ask me, I would tell you that I’m not putting on conferences.

What I’m REALLY doing is putting on an experience and THAT’S my real passion - creating experiences for people.  (or at least one of them).

So I want you to do the same for yourself and ask yourself what’s really going on? What is it about that thing that I find fascinating, that pulls me in?

Let me know in the comments. Would love to hear your passions.
